Celena Tunila, LPCC, ADHD-CCSP

Being human is hard sometimes.
And trying to understand yourself on top of everything else? Even harder.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, stuck in your own head, or like your brain is doing its own thing, you’re not alone. And you’re not broken.

I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor in Ohio and the founder of Imperfect Human Counseling. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, and ADHD.

ADHD is a big focus of my work and also something I understand personally.

I know what it’s like to live in a world that wasn’t really built for how your brain operates, and how exhausting that can feel over time. Whether you’ve been diagnosed, are questioning it, or just feel like things have always been harder than they “should” be, you’re not alone in that experience.

My approach is neuro-affirming, collaborative, and practical.

That means:

  • We focus on understanding how your brain actually works

  • We don’t pathologize things that make sense in context

  • And we find strategies that fit your life, not someone else’s version of it

Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping things feel more manageable, more clear, and more aligned.

Credentials & Background
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). I earned my Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Capital University.

My clinical work is also informed by training in EMDR and a trauma-informed approach.

I tend to work well with people who:

  • Feel overwhelmed but can’t always explain why

  • Overthink everything (and know it)

  • Are used to holding it together on the outside

  • Or are starting to wonder if ADHD might actually explain a lot

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my GSD, Doberman, and two black cats), traveling, and getting outdoors when Ohio weather allows.

My current hyperfocus is paint-by-numbers and reading (sometimes together, thank you, audiobooks). I also value finding small ways to slow down in a world that can feel pretty chaotic.

I believe therapy works best when you can show up as your real self, flaws and all.
